Step 2: Get Your Medical Council of Canada Credential Assessment
If NOC 31100 is your primary occupation, IRCC requires the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) to assess your primary medical diploma (MBBS). A WES report does not meet this requirement. Step 5: Choose Between Express Entry and a Provincial Nomination
To immigrate to Canada as a pediatrician, Express Entry suits applicants aged 30 or younger with CLB 10 English, while a provincial nomination suits most applicants aged 31 or older. Express Entry does not require a Canadian job offer or medical license.
- Healthcare and Social Services category: Requires 12 months of paid work in one listed occupation in the past three years, in Canada or abroad. The 2026 cut-offs have ranged from 467 to 475.
- Physicians with Canadian Work Experience category: Cut-offs have been as low as CRS 198 (3 September 2026), but this category requires 12 months of work as a doctor in Canada.

- MCC source verification: Complete it online through physiciansapply.ca while in Pakistan.
- MCCQE qualifying exam: Take it at a Prometric test center in Pakistan.
- PER training assessment: Pay the CAD 4,965 fee and expect a ruling within three to six months.
- Royal College pediatrics exam: Take the written component in person, with four attempts within five years of the ruling date.
- Two years of supervised practice: Complete them in Canada. One year of a Canadian clinical fellowship can count if it overlaps substantially with pediatrics.
